I have been tasked with coming up with a way to have multiple sites running through the same instance of farcry. I’m using version 3 and that cannot be changed at this time.
My initial thought was to have multiple nav trees each starting with a different “home” node and just manage the links accordingly. There is already a full tree with around 400-500 pages that I’m leery to move around. They want to split part of this off into its own tree and assign different domains to it. The project is a health system called BryanLGH. The current site tree is the medical center site. They want to move that to medcenter.bryanlgh.org and have HYPERLINK "http://www.bryanlgh.org/"www.bryanlgh.org be kind of a portal site to the med center and other sites we will be building. I’m just wanting to get some ideas of how to best manage this. Am I on track with multiple home nodes for the site structure? FYI, the reason they want to have everything in one instance is the same people will be charged with editing different areas of the site and they don’t want to have to keep logging into different instances of farcry to do this. Also, there is calendar information that sites will share. Any ideas about how to manage multiple domains on a single instance of Farcry would be great. Thanks in Advance.
