w00t! finally figured out why google wasn't letting emails get to the 
group. It's a bug! If you subscribe via groupname-subscribe, in the 
return email it gives you two options to confirm. Whatever you do, 
*don't* click on the url option. Just reply to the email. The url messes 
up the account and you'll never be able to post. It'll always bounce 
back, no matter what settings the account has. If you reply, it works. 
You can't go back and reply after you've clicked the url though, you 
need to unsubscribe and resubscribe.

Silly google. I filed a bug, so hopefully this will be fixed soon, or at 
least worked around by removing the url.
