Did you ever ask about giving Metacam for fever reduction?  Also, I keep saying this, but I would really try Immuno-regulin.  Except that a few cats get an hour-long side effect of raised temperature, which I guess could be bad if his is already so high. I would maybe start him on it when his temp is down. Michelle
