I have updated the script now so that it stores the setting of configuration variables to an easily sourcable file: fenics.master
Information about how to use this file is printed at the end of installation. Hopefully this does not break anything (tested only on Ubuntu so far). Johannes and Martin, feel free to add the INSTANT variable to the script. Another issue is how to put the script under https (see ongoing corresponding discussion on Google+).
