One more question: I noticed that I do not have write permission for a lot
of the generated files/folders in ~/.hashdist (even though I am the owner).
It doesn't seem to cause any problems during the build or when using
FEniCS, but it makes it a bit awkward to delete files (especially on a
system where I don't have admin rights). Would it be possible to change the
script so that at least the user has full permissions for the files in
~/.hashdist?

Cheers,
Max
