One more question: I noticed that I do not have write permission for a lot of the generated files/folders in ~/.hashdist (even though I am the owner). It doesn't seem to cause any problems during the build or when using FEniCS, but it makes it a bit awkward to delete files (especially on a system where I don't have admin rights). Would it be possible to change the script so that at least the user has full permissions for the files in ~/.hashdist?

I think I managed to get past that, but I was wondering: > what's the best way to customise the installation for non-standard > platforms (e.g. to point the installer to certain directories with include > files or libraries)?
