First Annual Connecticut Spin In. The Inn at White Hollow Farms,
Lakeville, CT. From 10 am until --- we feel like leaving. No charge,
just bring your wheel, all your friends, something for lunch or maybe
even something to share with the group. At noon there will be a wool

Saturdays (2), beginning May 5; Oregon
Beginning Spinning. Woodland Woolworks, Carlton, OR. Instructor Melda
Montgomery teaches basic spinning skills in two sessions. How-tos
include using a spinning wheel, spinning singles and plying, finishing
yarns, drafting techniques, and choosing and preparing a fleece. $30 for
the entire series. Fee includes fiber. Wheels are available to borrow
for class and to rent for home use. Class size limited to 5 students.

Spend a week on Salt Spring Island, B.C. Designing Colourful Cotton
Fabrics - This five-day class gives students a solid understanding of
and a joy for colour and design. Also includes efficient loom set-up,
using mixed warps, designing right on the loom and the finishing of

Come to beautiful Salt Spring Island, B.C. for Warp Design:
Supplementary Warps and Friends. Students will learn to create and
weave their own warp designs and weave a small project. This is a great

Massachusetts Sheep and Woolcraft Fair. Cummington Fairgrounds,

contact Launie York (413) 625-2424. The oldest sheep fair in New
England, this fair includes fiber animal events, fleece to shawl
contest, spinning contests, fleece show and sale, and lots of fiber and
equipment venders. Fiber workshops will be: Rainbow Yarn Dyeing,
Card-Weaving, Knitting From the Top Down, Handspindling, and Painting
Yarn with Natural Dyes. The Kid's workshops offered are: Spinning, Felt

Basic Concepts in Feltmaking. Woodland Woolworks, Carlton, OR. Join

The Academy of Spinsters. We are located in the small town of
Encampment, WY. The town is located in a high (7400') mountain valley.
The school offers classes in Spinning, Dyeing, and Fleeceweaving. Carol
