Please note: Due to my computer crash, I had to start with an older
version of the FAQ. Please scrutinize your listing carefully, and let
me know if there need to be any changes. If appropriate, I will post a
revised FAQ.

Below is the Workshop FAQ. New items, or items which have been updated
since the last posting are highlighted using *** on either side of the
date/location heading. (Remember: You can search for *** to find new
entries.) At the bottom is a section with a list of workshop locations.

If you have any items you would like added to the FAQ, please send the
information (subject, date, place, teacher, basic cost and contact
person) to me, Holly Shaltz, at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please keep each
listing to 10 lines or less. Otherwise I will have to edit, and you may
lose something important to you. The FAQ is updated on the first of
every month.

All inquiries about workshops should be sent to the contact person. I
have posted all the information I have.

Celia Quinn Workshop: Spinning to a Specification. Learn to monitor the
diameter and twist of your yarn in simple ways to develop greater
consistancy. Practice expanding your skills by spinning yards of widely
different sizes and twists. Topics covered include making a successful
singles warp yarn, a balanced 2 ply yarn, gossamer yarn, and spinning
for a specific knitting gauge. We will also discuss acceptable margins
of error between skeins for the same project.

Sunday-Monday, October 19-20, 2003; Oregon.

Workshop with Celia Quin: Silk, Silk, Silk. Immerse yourself in
luxurious silk as we spin many forms of the fiber: smooth and lustrous
top, exotic blends, long caps, hankies, textured carded silks, and the
very short silk noil. Learn to expand cocoons to make squares (Mawata).
Dye your own caps & hankies for different color effects. Experience the
wonder of reeling a sheer thread from cocoons. Celia will also speak on
fiber properties, sericulture, care of silk, and spider silk.
