There are setups with a colorimeter designed to read off a print but they're
MUCH more expensive. The Spyder colorimeter is as others have mentioned
only for reading colour off a monitor. Using a scanner isn't mad at all,
it's exactly the same as using a colorimeter *except* that the scanner isn't
as accurately calibrated. It's all a question of cost.
