Well, it doesn't work for me, but if it works for others, great.

I'm all in favor of anything that works, whether it makes sense or not.  I
see that all the time in vocal technique.  From a physiological point of
view, half the concepts we teach are inaccurate ("placement", "covering",
"chest voice", etc.), but if they focus the mind to use the right muscles
to make the right sound, then it's a useful fiction.
