Hello!

I'm new to Finale Lists.

Is there some way that I can review past messages for answers to my problems. I have just started receiving Finale digest and it seems way over my head, way too advanced for me.  Are there any messages for more basic problems, faced by beginners.

I could really relate to Message 42, July 14, 2002 from  David H. Bailey,

> Nobody wants notation capability development to stop. But many of us
> feel that it is time for other aspects of the program are improved so
> that we don't have to recommend Sibelius to casual users who aren't
> interested in recreating the appearance of B&H or Henle scores, but who
> want a clean, neat, no-effort program to allow them to get their ideas
> (or needs) down on paper to hand to others to play.

Most of the things I do are for beginning music students.  Sometimes I do more complex things.

I own both Print Music and Finale, although I've never used Finale because it's so complicated.  Obviously If I cant do PrintMusic, I'll never learn Finale!

I have "ruined" several songs(in Print Music) because they are missing one or more beats, and I don't know how to insert one beat and move everything over.  The bar lines are also off one or more beats.  Also the Treble and Bass notes are not correctly lines up.   Whenever I try to insert a beat, it just goes, "Thud, thud" because that measure is "full" and it won't let me add any more.  I can't even force the little box to open which says "There are too many beats in this measure".  I sent an e-mail to Coda, but they didn't get around to answering.  In the Index there isn't even a listing for "Inserting Notes or rests", although you can insert other things.

My problems with Print Music are endless.  After 2 years and hundreds of hours I am still stuck on the most basic problems.

Thanks.
