It doesn't clear the spacing unless you have turned on CLEAR SPACING for music spacing operations, and even then, it does not do it reliably. I have been completely unable to clear the wrong spacing caused by Finale's default spacing of 2nds in a hidden layer -- I cannot get rid of it. The only thing I've been able to do is drag the notes with special tools. My preference for music spacing is INCORPORATE, so it would be bad if the only way to clear manual positioning (or existing spacing) were to set it to CLEAR, as I might forget to set it back afterwards and then lose spacing that I'd already done. But that isn't even the point -- that option doesn't even work 100%. -- David W.
