Sorry but I need the crutch, at least until such time as I become more
proficient at recognising chords in a score rapidly. At least BiaB's
suggestions make more sense than Finale's. At least to me at this stage in
my development.

I can, after reading your posting, understand why someone with great
knowledge of music would find both programmes frustrating.
