I am pretty much ignorant of anything related to playback. I have no MIDI
equipment, and I rarely use playback at all. I'm not even sure if what I'm
going to ask makes sense.

Tonight I find myself in a situation where I want to make a sound file that
I can email to someone so he can play it on his computer (preferably by
tomorrow morning...). I do know how to get my primitive Mac internal
speaker to playbakc the music, and I know how to make whatever necessary
adjustments I want to the tempos, volumes, etc., so that part is no
problem. What I'm hearing on my end now is perfectly fine. Now I just
want to make it so he can hear the same thing (short of calling him up and
holding the telephone receiver next to my computer...). Is there a way I
can save the playback sound in some simple format that I could them email
or upload to a website?

I was hoping that when I looked the playback options there would be
something like "save as WAV file", but I see no such thing -- only Coda's
format or MIDI. Is there some simple utility that I can use to convert one
of these? I'm not even sure what format I want for the other end. My
colleague isn't any more knowledgeable than I am about this, but he can
browse the Web as easily as anyone else, and when he finds a sound file
there, it plays OK, so his system must know something.

I need this in a hurry, and I don't want to spend a lot of time getting to
know new technology. If there's a simple solution, great. If it's more
complicated than that, then I'll just figure I'm out of luck.

thanks
mdl
