That is very funny (or NOT!) - I ran into the same problem just some days
ago and I did some experimenting, brought the file (also 2002) into 2003 -
no change there, same bugs.

The only work-around that I could come up with (so music spacing was
producing good results) was to go back into the score file, delete all
individual time signatures and rather spell them out for the instruments
that used different time signatures and then re-extract those parts - then
spacing was fine again.

I did send the file to Coda.
