I used Acrobat 5.0 and got some decent output by exporting fragments as
EPS files and then inserting into MS Word.  No jaggy beams of any kind,
because of the Encapsulated Postscript.

I don't think its necessary to export as EPS, I'm just pointing out that
Finale does at some point output the right postscript necessary to get
fine looking output even into PDF files.  I'm not sure which settings
you need to tweak, but likely it has something to do with using
postscript in Acrobat print driver..
