Yes.

Personally, I don't care whether it's passé.  I care whether it helps
the player play the music better, sooner.

That may also be the case for a lot of musicians with a lot of playing
experience.  But I want the music I publish to be as accessible as
possible to less experienced players as well.

I prefer them in parentheses as well, but since Finale doesn't
automatically put them in 
parentheses, that's OK with me, too.

My "house style" is basically Finale Win2003 defaults, except for the
font and font size for the title, composer and copyright notice, and the
margins.
