I'm not looking at it now--is there a slider for the level of effects?
The routines are written by a guy who also has designed some fonts--perhaps he
monitors this list & can comment on some of the inner workings of the routines.

Yes, that does it, but it seems there must be a bug in there
somewhere. With the standard playback style, I didn't get a slight
ritard on the last bar. I lost 90% of the tempo.
