Anyway, whether I want to follow the source's style or impose the "correct" style instead is an editorial decision.
I vote fix it. Just as you would fix (for instance) confusing and obsolete notation like accidentals in one octave that are meant to apply to all octaves, old style bass clef horn transposition, etc.
