I use JW Space Systems every days with Finale 2004 (a then b), never had a problem. Did you try it on different files?
Yes, I just tried to run it on a new file based on the 2004b default document and it crashed, and so did the Tempo one (if I remember correctly). I really wouldn't like to test them all because I'd have to force-restart my computer twice (!) if any of them fail.
