No, that doesn't help at all. It doesn't matter if I can get artics to display when the notes are in their original staff -- they need to display properly when they are in the *other* staff, and they don't.
After some more experimenting, I find that with cross-staff notes, you need to drag the artics *up* if you want them to move down (and vice-versa), and then do a screen redraw to see where they've wound up. The whole thing is trial and error.
