Yes, I think you caught it for me. I had read a bit of discussion about having the two versions, but it didn't sink in. There's also a new Read Me file for 2004b that I had not seen. Thanks.

Are you accidentally running the old Finale 2004 (not 2004b)? The file
associations are still mapped to the old version if you have not yet deleted
it, so clicking on a file created before the "b" update will use the wrong
version.


I have found that running the older version of FinMac2004 after the update
has been applied will throw out your 2004b preferences. Just deleting the
"Finale 2004" application package from your Applications folder should fix
the problem.
