Believe me, I've thought of that. Like I said earlier, if it seems like it's going to be more trouble than it's worth to get it off, I'm definitely not going to press my luck. I'm going to take it to the Apple store or TekServe and let the pros do it.
But your word of caution is most appreciated. I promise to re-read your post right before I try to crack the case open.
