Because it works?

Because it is no longer made?

Because later versions of the same software introduced design
problems that make it unusable?

Because newer software is a performance hog and doesn't run well on
my older computer?

Because it was custom software that was designed by someone who is no
longer around and can't be rewritten for a newer computer?

In other words: there are lots of good reasons for wanting to run
older software.

What I don't understand is why anyone would verge on suggesting that
it wouldn't be more desirable for Macs to run all software ever
written for the Mac, as is the case for PCs (if it was written for
any version of DOS or Windows, you can probably run it on the latest
version of Windows).
