I think many people are under the impression that the automatic 
backup overwrites the existing file when it kicks in, just like a 
forced save, but it does not. It saves to a different file name.

I've said it many times, but an undelete program that reserves 
deleted file space from being re-allocated immediately can be a real 
life saver. I know that there are plenty of such programs available 
for Windows and surely the same is available for Mac, too.
