While I'm on a rant, which clever Trevor decided to pop in the "Items to copy" dialogue EVERY time I want to mass mover copy something. (Someone, please tell me there is way out of this annoyance, maybe hidden deep in a program options menu that has a double sub dialogue that they have altered 4 times since v 3.5 and is now also located under the MIDI menu/playback/Gargantuan Personal Pain Instruments/Contact Make Music..etc..etc. menu option, but hey! ikey could get me there in one keystroke ;-)) This never happened in 2005 and before. For years I hounded Make Music to make the mass mover selections 'savable'. Finally in v2006 they did that, but on pain of 2 dialogue boxes to get the same job done! This is a move backwards not forwards.

To bypass, just use opt-click to copy -- the most recently used "Items To Copy" list is applied. The dialog only shows up when you use opt-shift-click.

Ah, ah! At last, pain relief in the form of the option key. Why they can't just put a "Don't show this again" check box in the Items to Move dialogue I'll never figure.

Because often you might want to move different items each time you try to move something. You might just want to moved notes one time, you might just want to move expressions another time. Having two different key combinations so that we can at all times have both possibilities (selecting what to move, or moving what we most recently selected to move) is a good thing.

Using what had been the old "move what I've told you to move" key combination to be the new "What items would you like to move this time" function is what is stupid. The old behavior should have remained as it is, and a new combination should have been incorporated for the "what items would you like to move this time" function.

Such a usage of long-time behavior to get new results shows a lack of regard for long-time users at the expense of new users for whom it will be easy for them to simply ctrl-click to copy. Of course, new users could just as easily have learned the old ctrl-shift-click behavior, and we could ALL have learned that ctrl-click would bring up the items-to-copy dialog.

Oh well, progress. Just gotta keep reading that "What's New" documentation and pray that it really lists all the new additions and all the changes from previous behavior.
