I guess you shouldn't drag the boxes to anywhere that will be hard to
find again when you change your monitor setup.
Another way to find those errant boxes is to temporarily change the
screen resolution to a very high resolution (Display Preferences) and
possibly change the rotation. The box might just show up on the edge
somewhere.
I used to have this problem until I stopped doing what I wanted and
tried to do what Finale wanted me to do. (What's the emoticon for "I
have no independent ideas and only live to do MakeMusic's bidding?)
Another idea would be to have a good Finale Preferences file zipped
and ready to go inside your Finale folder. Whenever you have problems,
just unzip the archive and let it replace your current preference
file. When you restart the program, your boxes should be where you
want them. (You could also have a dual monitor preference file zipped
and a single monitor preference zipped, but it would be a little
trickier remembering which was which given that they have to have the
same name.)

I have experienced a problem where the system and page margins

Just now, I couldn't find the page margin dialog box. I trashed the
preferences, tried resizing the screen (large to small to large)
combined with restarting. Nothing worked until I set up a pair of
monitors, and eventually I found the page margin box underneath my
main screen (by dragging the arrangement of the two monitors so that
the second monitor would continue the screen real estate beneath the
main monitor).
Does anyone know, should this happen again, an easy way to get these
boxes back? Without having to resort to adding monitors?
