Hi David,
I read your note again and realized that except for the rotation trick
in the display preferences, you've already tried my suggestions. (I
know you are a Finale expert, but sometimes even the elementary stuff
escapes us, so sorry about the dumb advice.)
I really don't know why replacing the Finale preferences didn't change
the dialog box placement. That usually does the trick for me. If you
indeed replaced the preferences with a brand new one, then this is a
terrible bug and I will be happy to dig out my pitch-fork again and
raise it in MakeMusic's direction.

Just now, I couldn't find the page margin dialog box. I trashed the
preferences, tried resizing the screen (large to small to large)
combined with restarting. Nothing worked until I set up a pair of
monitors, and eventually I found the page margin box underneath my
main screen (by dragging the arrangement of the two monitors so that
the second monitor would continue the screen real estate beneath the
main monitor).
Does anyone know, should this happen again, an easy way to get these
boxes back? Without having to resort to adding monitors?
