That's the quickest solution yet, I think. It is equivalent to breaking the MM rest because scroll view does not show mm rests. But it is better than breaking the mm rest because you don't have to recreate the mm rest after that. It is not quite as good as being able to drag the "To coda" directly in page view, but it is pretty close.
