Basically true, but check the version of your's. The recommended version is the most recent Dec 2001 release, which is only available online. It's free, but membership is required..None so far. but some minor problems are being reported related to Dev Toolsq. are there problems with 10.2.3 Mac

The requirement is July 2001 version updated with August 2001 Update (due to the dependency on GCC 3.1).
My machine is runs on G3 256MHz. Yes, KDE programs are rather slow, especially at startup. But I have no serious slowness irritatin with other programs.I hear that things are little slow using fink would this be slow on my G4 450
