You might still be using the ‘point’ release of package descriptions.  
To get more recent package descriptions, you should use either rsync  
or cvs to update them; rsync is usually the most preferable method.  
Please run the following commands:

fink selfupdate
fink selfupdate-rsync
fink index -f
fink selfupdate

This should bring you up to date (selfupdate) using the rsync method  
to download package descriptions (selfupdate-rsync), rebuilding Fink’s  
internal index of package descriptions (index -f).

After doing this procedure you may resume normal Fink usage. Note that  
selfupdate-rsync only needs to be run once: Fink remembers that you  
have chosen the rsync method and it is going to use this choice in any  
subsequent selfupdates.
