Hi Martin, > What do you get from "fink --version"?
bash-3.2$ fink --version Package manager version: 0.27.16 Distribution version: 0.9.0.2 i386 > If the version starts with 0.27, you are probably victim of a bug where fink > does not selfupdate correctly. In this case, run > > fink index -f > > and then "fink selfupdate" again. Done, but there doesn't seem to be any change in the package table after updating it in the Fink commander. Also the selfupdate told me that there wasn't anything to update: ------ bash-3.2$ sudo fink selfupdate curl --connect-timeout 30 -f -L -A 'fink/0.27.16' -O http://www.finkproject.org/CURRENT-FINK-10.5 % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 0 13 0 13 0 0 9 0 --:--:-- 0:00:01 --:--:-- 0 You already have the package descriptions from the latest Fink point release. (installed:10.5-0.9.0.2 available:10.5-0.9.0.2) If you wish to change your update method to one which updates more frequently, run the command 'fink selfupdate-rsync'. ------ (linebreaks may be disrupted after copying into the mail window) I also used selfupdate-rsync recently (Fink normally remembers this and uses rsync from then on, doesn't?). Another guess: I set Fink to retrieve binaries if available. Does this overrun even the existence of more recent but source-only packages? Do I have to set Fink to use sources exclusively? However, before I spend hours by hours for compiling the GCC I prefer to try other options...;-) Thanks in advance, Ingo -- ========================================== Ingo Thies Argelander-Institut fuer Astronomie (AIfA) Sternwarte, University of Bonn Auf dem Huegel 71, D-53121 Bonn, Germany Tel : +49 (0)228 73-3659 Mail: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [email protected] http://news.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.fink.beginners
