Ah, exactly, that's been the reason, thanks!

I did not even know up to now that there is a "point" release. I only knew 
CVS and rsync.

I think, I will run the update-all soon, after I have finished the 
calibration of the new battery, so that GCC compilation can run without 
interruption.

Then I'll show up with the next problems whatever they might be, so stay 
tuned ;-)))

Ah, maybe one question right now: I am thinking of installing MacTeX 
independently rather than tetex via fink. Might this cause any problems 
since Fink sometimes invokes TeX for documentations, or will it just use 
the MacTeX (once installed and paths set) executables? At least the 
standard packages of tetex should be the same as in TeXlive (on which 
MacTeX is based on), shouldn't it?
