I can't find any Perl 5.8.8 on Fink, only 5.8.6 and 5.10.0. I hoped that 5.10.0 may act as a proper replacement. The origin might be a recent security update by Apple, according to some reports on the web. Here are some URLs where the problem is mentioned: http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-5871.html http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail/macports-users/2009-March/014507.html What I am wondering about is that the error apparently does not only occur with Apple's Perl but also with the one from Fink. However, the solutions described there seem to require some expert's knowledge that I don't have. > It works for me, even with fink's perl5100 installed. I have repeated the attempt with two disk images, one is containing a freeware application (acting as source), the other is a freshly created dummy image (target). Then I type dsl-81-173-231-81:~ ingo$ sudo psync /Volumes/GraphicConverter/ and get /Volumes/Disk\ Image/ Password: Can't locate MacOSX/File.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /sw/lib/perl5-core/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level /sw/lib/perl5-core/5.10.0 /sw/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level /sw/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 .) at /sw/bin/psync line 14.
