I am trying to install Fink on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) machine, for the
first time. So I downloaded Fink 0.8.1 Intel Installer, but when I run the
installer package on it, it checks my system and then gives an error saying:
"Fink Cannot be installed on this computer.
This Fink Installer is for OS X 10.4 only. Please visit
http://finkproject.org to get the correct installer for your system
version."
Now I'm pretty sure my OS is 10.4.11, as it says so in the 'About this Mac'
dialog as well as when I access 'defaults read /System/Library/
CoreServices/SystemVersion ProductUserVisibleVersion'. I don't know why the
installer won't let me proceed. Can someone please help?
