This is the output of console:
running InstallationCheck...
Fink Installer: This Installer is for Mac OS X 10.4, not . Bailing out.

Which is the output when the following code in installation check is fired
off:

# x.y.z form (10.4.6, for example)
    my $OSXVersion = qx{defaults read
/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion ProductUserVisibleVersion};
    $OSXVersion = '' if !defined $OSXVersion;
    chomp $OSXVersion;

    # make sure OS X version is the distro for which we're configured
    if ($OSXVersion !~ /^\Q$target_OSX./) {
        print "Fink Installer: This Installer is for Mac OS X $target_OSX,
not $OSXVersion. Bailing out.\n";
        # no printf in .strings, so gotta case on hard-coded values:(
        if ($target_OSX eq '10.3') {
            $errmsg = 20;
        } elsif ($target_OSX eq '10.4') {
            $errmsg = 21;
        } else {
            $errmsg = 4;
        }
        last;
    }

And my $target_OSX = '10.4'; meaning I don't understand why the code is
getting fired off. The comment after the setting of the target_OSX variable
bothers me though: "# is replaced by buildpkg.sh script" . Is that changing
the variable so that it doesn't equal 10.4 and my system doesn't validate
correctly? Or is that just a comment about the compile time processes when
the installer was made?
