Hi!,
I just updated maxima to 5.9.2 and it gives an error message I never had
before:
[...:/sw/bin] paul% maxima
*** - invalid byte #xCC in CHARSET:ASCII conversion
Are you running maxima from inside a directory with an "é" in its name?
The following restarts are available:
ABORT :R1 ABORT
Break 1 [2]> abort
after it have typed "abort" it starts normally and works OK whether I
run it with the text, or X11 or aqua version of Tcl/Tk (it would be nice
to have that automatized by the way, one needs only to create a wmaxima
script identical to xmaxima replacing "wish" by "/usr/bin/wish" which
works if tcl/tk aqua ("http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/") is present.
The interface is nicer to use...
On Tiger, this is even simpler, because it comes with tcl/tk aqua
installed: Run
env PATH=/usr/bin:$PATH xmaxima
