Hi List,

I am having a rough ride so far updating my fink installation from
Tiger to Leopard.
The last hill I had to get over was QT complaining about XFT missing,
which was solved by installing the latest Xquartz 2.2.1. It went on a
little while, and now won't compile arts:

...
checking for X... libraries /usr/lib, headers .
checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes
checking for libXext... no
configure: error: We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure
can't find it itself, we stop here assuming that make wouldn't find
them either.
arts-1.5.9-1 configure failed!

Which is weird, because libXext.dylib is lying around in /usr/X11/lib.
Looks like some include/library path problem, since it says it found
the libraries under /usr/lib (where they are not), and the headers
nowhere (and they are in /usr/X11/include/X11).

I should mention that I hastily removed apples X Server by moving /usr/
X11* out of the way. Maybe I forgot something thats conflicting now.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot.
Martin
