This looks like another one of those auto-bugs that are exposed when xmkmf is not present. This time it seems to be a line in configure LIBS="-lXext -lX11 $LIBSOCKET" that according to any logic should read LIBS="$LIBS -lXext -lX11 $LIBSOCKET" The bug is present in admin/acinclude.m4.in and is therefore likely to affect all kde packages. Maintainer CCed. Adding a line perl -pi.bak -e 's|(LIBS=\")(\-lXext \-lX11 \$LIBSOCKET\")|$1\$LIBS $2|g' admin/acinclude.m4.in to the PatchScript in arts.info lets the build succeed. > Looks like some include/library path problem, since it says it found > the libraries under /usr/lib (where they are not), and the headers > nowhere (and they are in /usr/X11/include/X11). This is a (probably harmless) side effect of some homegrown starter script outsmarting the very autotools it is made for: It places -I/usr/X11R6/include into CPPFLAGS and -L/usr/X11R6/lib into LIBS, so that configure thinks it does not need to add any X11 related flags to the compiler command lines. -- Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
