This seems to be a "new feature" (AKA bug) in the new autoconf-2.64.
There is a discussion about this on the autoconf mailing list
<http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02193.html>.
It looks like they were aware of the fact that autoconf-2.64 was going 
to break building of gcc.

I guess pogma needs to add another patch for autoconf-2.64.
Or Fink needs to go back to autoconf-2.63.
