That was my first thought when I saw Proteus come out. Then after a couple
days of asking Zeus where his eagles were, I remembered that it was
Prometheus who stole fire and gave it to the humans. Proteus was one of
Poseidon's right-hand men, a prophetic chap who could change shape at will.
Now given the two, and the similarity of the names, and we already know that
the author's not the brightest guy in the world (for not adhering to the
terms of the GPL), I think he just screwed up and picked the wrong name for
his program.
