The internal code of Fire is almost complete for version 0.31a. As such
Eric and Jason have called an general interface freeze in order to provide
a short period of time for localizations. I will be finishing up the
Spanish localization either tonight or tomorrow morning, however, since
there seems to have been some interest in localizations to other languages
(I believe Martin H�cker was planning on doing a German version, and
Heimir Freyr may have been planning an Icelandic one), this post is going
out to the list in general. As a quick checklist for anyone who plans on
assisting, these are what need to be localized for a full localization:
1. The contents of the English.lproj/ directory, renamed
YourLanguage.lproj
2. The localizable.strings file, in thisformat: "English Words" =
"Your Language";
The semicolon at the end is important.
3. The contents of each English.lproj folder for each Preference Pane
4. [Optional - a separate list in a file (or even the body of the e-mail)
of the vulgarities of your language for the profanity filter]
If you're able to do a localization for 0.31a, that's great, and we
gratefully appreciate any work you can do for Fire. If you don't think
you can have it done in time for 0.31a, we can add your localization later
in 0.31b. If you can't/don't want to, that's great too; everyone on the
list has provided innumerable amounts of help for the development of Fire
in order to make it the great application it is today.
Also, off the topic of localizations, I will be putting the final touches
on the help files. Before I finalize the indexing of the help files, if
anyone has any breif input on what may need to be added to the help files,
I will greatly appreciate it.
