It seems like the latest firebug 1.4 addresses some of the major
annoyances I had. It looks like domain whitelisting happens (although
it is implicit now), in my case for localhost. It also seems like when
I switch pages, the panel stays put (or stays hidden) for the tab I'm
on. If so, these are steps in the right direction. I'm less concerned
about position of the X button and more concerned with domain
whitelisting and panel sanity.
