Mail Relays??

When an smtp server is configured so than anyone can send mai through it.

Example:

to get sendmail working on linux you have to tell it either what domains, or
which IP's are allowed to relay mail through it, otherwise only local
accounts will be able to send mail. A server configured to allow 0.0.0.0/0
would be a good example of an open mail relay. This is where most of the
spam in your mailbox comes from. If everyone would learn how to configure
an e-mail server (those that are responsible for e-mail servers, that is)
spam would all but go away.
