Interesting fact for the list: The FreeBSD project spawned a project called
NetBSD which is dedicated to run at lots of different hardware. The NetBSD
project then spawned the OpenBSD project which focuses on security.

Of these FreeBSD has the most users. But (it is my understanding that) work done
on one *BSD is normally easily used by one of the other *BSDs.
