And keep a real close eye on them going through airport security
checks.

Judging by the number of Windows laptops which were noticed
sharing out their entire hard drives in the IETF terminal room at the
Orlando IETF conference last year, I was REALLY GLAD I was one of the
ones running Linux. About half the laptops were running non-Windows
operating systems, Linux, Solaris (sparc-books), Solaris x86, *BSD, etc.

At the very least, using a laptop at a show "E-Mail garden" or
terminal room calls for extrodinary, and non-obvious, measures since
you are exposing yourself to indeterminant risks. At least the IETF
tends to be non-hostile (till you get into heated debates in the Working
groups, where things occasionally get "in your face" hostile. :-) ).

The though of the exposure at a trade show where anyone
could be sniffing or scanning is really scary.
