I hope that this group will help with what I am sure is a very basic
question. We have a Cisco Pix 515, that was installed and setup by a third
party. They configured it to support our webserver on a DMZ using the PIX 4
port Ethernet card. They told us to plug the server directly into the 1st
port of the 4 port card. When we do this we get nothing, no light
indicating connection, no connectivity, nothing. We have tested the port
with a network tester and get a green light indicating link. No my question
is, are we suppose to do as described above, which would indicate another
problem. Or should we connect the DMZ and webserver to our switch. The
server is 192.168.1.2 and the DMZ port is 192.168.1.1.
