     The best sniffer on the market bar none is tcpdump.  It comes on most
UNIX and LINUX distros.  I'm sure you can find a Windows port of it
somewhere if that is the OS you are using.  You can answer a lot of
questions like this by using the search functions at www.google.com or your
favorite search engine.
