The most important factor is administrators knowledge of the used operating
system so I would recommend to stick with Linux.

However I think that NetBSD/OpenBSD ipf/pf systems are much easier when it
comes to security policy configuration so if you don't have experience with
iptables/ipchains this might affect to your decision.
