Interesting, does it leave any core dumps around if you have that enabled as
I'd guess a traceback could help a lot!

Please try to run with the standard Terminal application for a while and see
if that helps?

Currently, I'm experiencing fish dumping core on a Debian SID system running
rxvt-unicode but the tracebacks are not making much sense. Also, sometimes
X11? dies, leaving processes alive but hung (eating 100%).

So, this might not be related to the issues I've experiencing but in general
when it comes to finding and fixing the first step is isolating it.
