If you can reliably reproduce this, would you mind filing a bug against
the package so I can take a look at it.  I run fish in a similar setup
and haven't seen any problems but I have noticed that there are possible
architecture-specific problems with at least the test suite.  I've
actually been meaning to bring that up with Axel but have been a little
busy.
